PN-BESI-TL and its member GFFTL had meeting with the Executive President of BTL.EP

Dili, 29 May 2024, Timor-Leste’s National Platform of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (PN-BESI-TL) and GFFTL (Grupu Feto Foinsa’e Timor-Leste) had a meeting with the Executive President of BTL.EP at BTL.EP’s meeting room, Caicoli, Dili. This meeting aims to discuss information around water and sanitation and at the same time, PN-BESI-TL requested BTL.EP’s support to the PN-BESI-TL’s team that will implement Social Audit activity in Viqueque and Covalima.

The coordinator of PN-BESI-TL updated information and findings related to the rural water systems through a Social Audit in Post Administrative Tilomar, Covalima Municipality. Furthermore, PN-BESI-TL’s continuous works were also updated particularly on the social audit through the Community Score Card that will be implemented in Viqueque municipality, Ossu Post Administrative and Covalima municipality, Fohorem Post Administrative with the support from Gabinete Apoiu Sosiedade Civil.

Vice-President of BTL.EP appreciated works done by PN-BES-TL as Government’s partner to support the development of the water sector in Timor-Leste. He added, BTL.EP using reports produced by PN-BESI-TL as a source BTL.EP’s interventions. He also recommended to PN-BESITL to socialize crucial information to the Schools and Healthcare to reserve their water in water reservatory tanks if there is any urgent situation.

President of BTL.EP also recommended PN-BESI-TL to continue the advocacy to the community through awareness raising and civic education regarding watershed particularly on the upstream area including socializing environmental protection. Finally, he requested PN-BESI-TL to collect the data and information around rural water systems in public facilities such as schools and healthcare center.
