Dili, 6th of November, WaterAid Timor-Leste signed a technical cooperation agreement with the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Pública Timor-Leste (INSP-TL) at the INSP-TL’s auditory hall Comoro Dili .
According to WaterAid Timor-Leste’s HAMOS program supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), the objective of this technical agreement is to establish cooperation between the two parties in developing training module package focusing on five domain such as water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), clean environment, and waste management . The module training package aims to improve the health workers’ ability in managing clean environment at the Healthcare Facilities in Liquiçá and Manufahi municipalities. This agreement will be implemented during the period of two years as agreed by the two parties.
Mr.Justino da Silva on his opening speech, expressed that this ceremony is strengthening the cooperation between WaterAid Timor-Leste and INSPTL that will provide support in the Liquica and Manufahi municipalities. The President of INSPTL, Ms. Merita on her opening remark said that the signed technical cooperation between the two institutions for the period of 2 years focuses on the intervention in Healthcare facilities in Liquica and Manufahi municipalities. It will include training to the healthcare staff on how to maintain clean environment and hygiene for safety of the healthcare staff and patients. According to Ms. Merita, this capacity-building is vital as environment and hygiene in healthcare facilities is an important standrad to the Ministry of Health. 
Participated in this ceremony, the Country Director of WaterAid Timor-Leste and the team, the President of INSP-TL and the team, PHD, the representative of National Directorate of Education and Health Promotion (Ministry of Health), Manufahi Municipal Health, and the media groups.
